     My project is now under the genre of teen drama, specifically. The definition of teen drama films is "A teen drama is a genre or type of drama series with a major focus on teenage characters." Although not a film, the first teen drama that was a genuine success and breakthrough for the genre was the 1990 Television series 'Beverly Hills - 90210'.
    Some say that '90210' "paved the way" for future teenage drama films/shows. It is not said to be the best but to be the first. It is declared to be raw and accurate and normalized teenage conflicts on a screen. After doing this research I am going to watch a couple episodes of the first season to see what aspects of this genre I can learn techniques used in one of the originals of the genre. By observing and taking techniques used in older productions my film can create more of a real raw feel, not cheesy.
